Jeep shows its commitment to a greener future while delivering the capable, reliable vehicles it's known for in 2024. While the subcompact Renegade exits the fleet, the 2024 Jeep lineup still features many of the manufacturer's most popular models. Take a closer look at the latest Jeep vehicles set to excite motorists this year.
Jeep has made more changes to its popular midsize pickup than many of the vehicles in its family. It's streamlined its engine offerings, dropping the diesel V-6 and equipping all trim levels with a capable 3.6-liter V-6 motor. The Mojave X and Rubicon X trims are brand new this year. They build on the legacy of the Mojave and Rubicon trims but add appealing features like ergonomic 12-way nappa leather seats, tough steel bumpers, and extra driver assistance technology.
You don't need the top trims to get appealing features though. Infotainment touch screens are no longer optional. The standard 12.3-inch unit is also much larger than the 8.4-inch screen of the past. Side curtain air bags in the front and rear are also new and standard across the range. Cosmetic enhancements are subtle, but the rounded grille, windshield-integrated antenna, and new wheel designs make the latest Jeep Gladiator look fresh. For a brand-new look, consider ordering yours in Anvil, a pale gray exterior color introduced this year.
With an updated grille and 10 new wheel designs, Jeep has revamped the Jeep Wrangler's look while maintaining the rugged aesthetic that made it a cult classic. It might retain a vintage appeal, but a host of new tech onboard ensures the latest Wrangler appeals to modern motorists. A more effective noise-cancellation feature keeps the cabin quiet enough to hear your favorite tunes or take phone calls on the move.
An enormous 12.3-inch infotainment touch screen for all trim levels is a real step up from the 5- and 7-inch screens of the past. You can use this display to operate Jeep's latest infotainment software or wirelessly connect to Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. With mapping for more than 2,000 trails and the capacity to download more, the latest Wrangler makes an ideal travel companion.
In line with Jeep's commitment to green technology, the Sport and Rubicon X trims are now available with a plug-in hybrid 4xe powertrain. A powerful 3.6-kW auxiliary battery helps the hybrid models effectively run a range of accessories. A new Final Edition trim celebrates the V-8-powered Rubicon 392, which has its swan song in 2024.
Jeep has already subtly enhanced the Compass for 2024 by revamping the front grille inserts and improving the all-terrain tires on the off-road-ready Trailhawk trim. Expect more improvements when Jeep launches the Compass' new appearance and equipment packages later this year.
Until then, Jeep continues to deliver everything that made the Compass such a beloved small SUV. Many of the features other manufacturers charge extra for, like a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, all-wheel drive, and a comprehensive driver assistance system, come standard at all trim levels. Despite all those standard features, the Compass remains more affordable than many of its competitors in the compact SUV segment.
With the exception of some shiny new polished 18-inch aluminum wheels at the Limited trim level, the Grand Cherokee and its three-row sibling, the Grand Cherokee L, remain unchanged for the 2024 model year. However, they're still some of the most enticing midsized SUVs on the market. A powerful V-6 motor powers most trim levels. The 4xe plug-in hybrid system is an option for the Grand Cherokee and is standard with the Trailhawk trim. If you need the extra passenger space of the Grand Cherokee L, you can boost its performance and pulling power with an optional V-8 engine.
The interior was recently refreshed to ensure these vehicles stay ahead of the curve regarding cabin comfort. The seating is ergonomically designed, and there's plenty of headroom and legroom. The Grand Cherokee has an 8.4- or 10.1-inch touch screen, depending on the trim level. All Grand Cherokee Ls get the larger display.
Minor improvements have helped make the full-sized Wagoneer and its longer sibling, the Wagoneer L, even more appealing in 2024. Jeep has done away with the gas-guzzling Hemi V-8 and made the previously optional twin-turbo inline-six standard for all trims.
There are also some interesting improvements at different trim levels. Four-wheel drive becomes standard for the top-of-the-line Series III. A power-folding third row, intuitive head-up display, and smooth air-spring suspension system are also new at the Wagoneer's highest trim level. That air-spring system is an option for the Wagoneer L with the Series II or Series II Carbide trim.
As Jeep focuses on more sustainable motoring, the Hemi V-8 engines have also disappeared from the Grand Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer L models. You won't feel disappointed with the twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six though. Previously seen only on the Grand Wagoneer L, this impressive engine is now the standard for both vehicles. Dubbed the Hurricane, it produces an impressive 510 horsepower so it's no slouch on the road, but it's much more economical.
Jeep has also streamlined its trim levels and done away with the Grand Wagoneer's Series II trim. The cool Series II Obsidian is now the only option between Series I and Series III. If you like the look but crave a little more luxury, you can also add the blackout exterior package to the Series III.
